I am at BMW motorcycles of Baton Rouge waiting on the completion of my pretrip service. The level of professionalism at this dealership is top notch and I am confident that my bike is in the best of hands with James and Cory looking after it.

I see my old friend has not yet found a new home, but I am sure that is just a matter of time.

I should be on my way back to New Orleans shortly and all that is left for me is the final packing over the weekend. There is always a certain level of anxiety with preparing for a trip like this.  Am I bringing the right kit?  Do I have proper protection for the roads ahead?  Is my bike at the top level of readiness?  Am I forgetting anything?

As this is now my third “extended tour,” many of these questions fade to black.  However, each trip presents its own unique circumstances and requirements. As I approach the final packing, I know that I need to scale back on some of the items and anything that I forget can usually be procured along the way.

I am very excited to be a part of this journey… Just a few more days to go!
