Today was primarily a high milage “get there” sort of day with our only real destination being sunset at Cadillac Mountain.  This entry will be brief as our travel time was 15 hours and 28 minutes covering 696 miles.  Roughly 400 of those miles were just plowing on interstate, but the last stretch was 35-45mph roads going through small towns as we worked our way north.

Jr decided to occupy his time by climbing the rock wall across the street from the observatory while we tried to sort our the Packtalk issues

We experienced delays due to challenges with the Packtalk system that has been performing very well thus far.  I think the main issue is that each of our comms devices have been connected to other groups when we are riding at home, and now, our larger combined group is fighting for control.  We will get it sorted out tomorrow morning, most likely!  Our second delay was at our rallying point when, at the suggestion of some locals, Jon made a few modifications to our route to save us oodles of time getting north to make the sunset.  The rerouting wasn’t problematic, getting the route loaded into the GPS units was another story!

How we all feel after today!

Tomorrow is another early start with over 400 miles to cover… and the really pretty stuff should be just ahead!
