What can be said about a day that starts at 0300 prepping for an 0530 departure in the rain?   I’ll tell you what…”it’s a better day than many I’ve had!”, that’s what…

Our scheduled departure and two pick ups were like clockwork and by 0630 the entirety of the NOLA coalition was in motion with Cherokee, NC in our sights.  We began in the rain and remained there for the entirety of the day.  When rays of daylight would tease us with their warmth, it would be time for refuel or lunch and we would be right back in the steady rain once more.

Lunch was at a Panera bread in Birmingham and I had a cup of tomato soup with a turkey avacado sandwich.  Jr had a chipotle chicken panini and he said it was good as well.

While we stopped for a quick phone repair for Randall, I received a very unexpected call from one of the most genuine brothers in the Lord I have ever met.  Grant and his wife Jean are visiting the states for a few days for a time of renewal and refreshing as well as making new contacts for the work that they are called to in the Far East.  The few days that we spent together in labrang knit our hearts together for Kingdom purposes for all eternity.
Our final push to Cherokee was 100+ miles of winding mountain roads that, had the roads been dry, would have been more fun to roll through.

Tomorrow, we get to visit the wheels through time museum and then ride to grandfather mountain and Mt. Mitchell which is the highest peak east of the Mississippi River.  The weather is looking so sonat this point, but we serve a mighty God and he can move that out for us!
